his main verse is wicked, and will sometimes be treated as such in general posts or in some interactions. keep in mind, this is a canon-divergent portrayal, strictly live action based, where i lean more into the grim & PG-13 themes of. this includes the allegories that this movie unintentionally portrayed, that i have given much thought. i also go off of my own headcanons and scrapped scenes from the script, and the (poorly made) horror spin-off. when making this movie, the writers were clearly unapologetic in many ways that show in both inside and outside of the script. and i am autistic, so i see the deeper meaning behind everything. with that being said, if you are expecting a completely clean disney esque account, you are in the wrong place. suggestive jokes will also happen just as they did in the movie/script. as you can probably tell, i have done extensive deep diving into this, a hyperfixation of mine, so if you are looking for someone to scandalize, i am just the messenger who goes off of source material. the writers made certain decisions way before i was old enough to think of these things myself. i won't apologize for finding comfort in it. i actually like that the live action dr seuss movies feel different and more mature, even in hilarious or cringe ways, from actual dr seuss material. sue me for enjoying campiness or cope.

—History— — the night of christmas eve in 1917 was truly like no other, thanks to his moms' wild party but also the 'birth' of the grinch. why he was named grinch, no one truly knows, except for the fact it might have stemmed from the word grouch or imp, or a combination of the two. his rebellion, bluntness, & unique outlook on the world is not the only thing that set him apart, but it was his green fur. this caused grinch to be an easy target for bullying, until he ultimately made the decision to isolate off grid at only eight years old, thus further encouraging the ostracization of the grinch. his bully, augustus maywho, grows up to be the mayor of whoville who enforces this rule, while he chases martha may, grinch's childhood crush, the town's 'it' girl, and now a resented relic of the past. the first and very last time he was seen, was that day he tried to give martha a handmade gift for christmas, which she did not take or speak up in his defense, and hence, he ran away due to the humiliation over his expression of vulnerability. this fueled his hatred for the holiday that everybody else celebrated so shallowly. since his isolation and prior to, grinch has never received acknowledgment on his birthday, as everyone — including his mothers — were too busy prioritizing christmas.his talent for engineering and crafting inventions from scraps, was what helped grinch build survival skills on his own, including build his cave from scratch. while living out on mount crumpit (famously known as whoville's dumpit to crumpit) and being in the forest, grinch also learned to lean more into the cryptid part of himself as opposed to the creature who lived as a whoman for eight years. as the grinch is adjacent to bigfoot, he sees other creatures as competition. the grinch survives mostly off of food scraps, other anthropomorphic creatures for food, vegetation, handmade contraptions for living utilities, lakes, and the junk that people dispose of through his garbage chute.especially given the lifespan of whos, he's lived a long tedious life. along the way, grinch has made one only companion; max, his once abandoned dog, now a loyal assistant to the grinch. it is not clear when grinch obtained him, but speculation says max was one of the forgotten christmas novelties tossed into the trash chute. it further proved grinch's point that whomanity treats everything as disposable, replaceable, and worthless if it doesn't make them comfortable.

—WE KNEW RIGHT AWAY THAT HE WAS SPECIAL.— — growing up, grinch has exhibited traits that are uncanny to autism. he possesses the ability to see the world through a blunt, unfiltered lens; he's very observational, hyper-aware, and direct. he could never relate to anyone else or conform to social normalcy. especially with his blunt straightforward remarks — he does not know why it is 'rude' to others when he is simply pointing out an observation. grinch was always seen as the 'weird' kid, hence his retreat from everyone else. he often stims with his fingers, snout twitches, sniffs, paces. when emotions are overwhelming, he claps excitedly and rocks back & forth, or he may have a visceral reaction to pleasant feelings. when it comes to loud noises, he's sensitive to it; often seen covering his ears and sometimes shutting his eyes tightly to internally escape from it. he likes to emit random sounds as a vocal stim. he has very specific and abnormal food preferences. he does not like being touched because it makes him very uncomfortable — you are allowed to do this to my muse, but just expect him to recoil. he may ease into a touch or hug if it's someone he's growing to care about. when it comes to such emotions in general — he has a hard time conveying them and putting himself in the perspective of others. emotions are uncomfortable for him to express, which is why he is so guarded and uses sarcasm as a defense/coping mechanism.

—THE GRINCH'S SMALL HEART . . . (DIDN'T GROW) THREE SIZES THAT DAY.— — because the resolution to the canon movie, was straight nonsensical garbage — i won't be acknowledging the reason his heart grew in any of my writings. you may not have seen me bring it up because i fear it doesn't give him closure to the blatant cruelty he faced since he was a child. finding out christmas is more than commercialism, is not a reason to suddenly heal from the trauma the whole town caused him. grinch's heart was never 'too small'. especially not when he rescued a dog and was open to vulnerability and was less guarded, before the whos destroyed his confidence further indefinitely. his hatred for whoville's hypocrisy and materialism is more than justified. never sent a single christmas (or birthday) card, and emotionally abandoned by his own moms no less, he has every right to resent the town the way he does. i believe he could (and should) have done worse. stealing physical gifts is hardly a crime compared to what they did to him. when you write with me, his heart will still be 'shrunken' or portrayed pre-movie events. he only softens for a pet (such as max), a child (cindy lou or that alike), or a love interest. he does not like everyone all of a sudden.A SNEETCH, THE LORAX, AND EVEN CAT IN THE HAT.
grinch and his dear beloved dog, max. despite grinch's detached demeanor, his soft spot lies with his pet. he'd never hurt an animal. other creatures like him, however, is a different story. he's a forest creature by nature; and the kind he hunts, has nothing to do with animals. humans — sometimes they are complicated, in an oddly endearing way. but with his self-loathing, he feels no remorse when he beheads fellow anthropomorphic beasts, and even keeps their heads as trophies. maybe that's why you've stopped hearing about the legend of bigfoot. and don't worry — cat in the hat and the lorax are no longer nuisances or causes of trauma in children's lives! you can thank the grinch for that one. (canon in script discarded scene.)

—FLEAS BEFORE BEAUTY . . THANK YOU!— — everything grinch owns, is from his trash chute. given that he calls out whoville for being ingrates who discard gifts they grow tired of quickly — max was no exception. a rescue dog, not from wandering up the snowy mountain, but from being abandoned and tossed in the chute. max is around because grinch wants him to be. he sees himself in the unwanted, easily disposed dog.

—THE MUSCLES!— — he may be lazy and out of shape, but grinch is a creature who doesn't know his own strength. grinch can deadlift a 960 kg / 2,116 lb sleigh, and may i remind you when he compressed the giant monkey cymbals hard enough for the machine to break! at the end of the day, he still has cryptid biology.
